Outstanding Thai & Soul Food – A Must-Visit! We stopped by Blai Thai for lunch on our way back to Atlanta, and it was an amazing find! My husband ordered the Thai basil chicken, and I debated between the gumbo or pad see ew with tofu—went with the pad see ew, and it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were spot on, and the portion was perfect. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance, and everything was clean, including the bathrooms—a big plus! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and we had the pleasure of meeting the owners, who were incredibly kind and welcoming. We will definitely be back, and next time, I’m trying the gumbo! If you’re looking for great Thai and Soul food, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Somewhat hidden in a strip mall is this absolute gem of a restaurant. The decor is attractive, with original artwork on the walls, and scrupulously clean. The wait staff is very friendly, and the food was absolutely exceptional. I had a friend visiting and the past week we've gone to several restaurants that had very little flavor but everything here was flavorful in a way where you could really appreciate all the delicious seasonings. The owner and his wife were both delightful, and it's a joy to go to an independent restaurant that uses real family recipes, made with good ingredients and great care. Parking is easy and free with validation. Highly recommended

Let me start by saying that it was a breath of fresh air to walk into a restaurant and be treated as if they truly care that you came to their establishment. The owner Donerick is so nice and friendly. One of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time. As far as the food goes, absolutely amazing! They have Thai food down packed! The owner‘s wife is from Thailand. They also do soul food. The name of the place is a pun on words of black and Thai put together. You have to come try this place. You will not be disappointed as it is one of the most authentic Thai food places around Los Angeles. The drunken noodles was so good. I usually do pad see oh, but he recommended the drunken noodles as it’s a grown-up version of pad see oh. The Tom Kha soup was so good as well seriously come on. You won’t be disappointed if you eat here.

Absolutely amazing experience! The food was fantastic. I had the medium Pad Thai and Tom Yum soup, and both were packed with flavor. My wife loved her wonton soup. The owner made us laugh when my parents asked what was good, saying, “Why would I put it on the menu if it wasn’t good?” My mom is very picky and usually sends food back, but they made her a special Pad Thai without all the things that make Pad Thai so tasty, and it was still incredible. Highly recommend Blai for both the food and the warm, welcoming vibe.

On Wednesday, 09/10, while visiting my sister in Woodland Hills, she recommended we try Blai Thai restaurant. Being a big fan of Thai food, I was all in. The restaurant has a clean, inviting interior with a glass-view kitchen you can see right from the dining area. Our waiter was friendly, offered helpful suggestions, and had a great personality. The first surprise of the meal was a motorized robot server that delivered our water—fun and unexpected. We started with soup, fragrant and flavorful, setting a great tone for the rest of the meal. For my entrée, I ordered Chicken Thai Basil—my go-to dish whenever I want to compare Thai restaurants. When it arrived, it looked beautiful, smelled amazing, and most importantly, tasted absolutely fantastic. The flavors were fresh and bold—truly outstanding. As the restaurant filled with more diners, I knew we had chosen well. In the middle of our meal, a man in a colorful tracksuit stopped by our table to clear our soup bowls. When I asked who he was, he introduced himself as Donerick—the owner. I laughed and said, “That’s funny, my name is D-Tommy.” He laughed too, and it was clear he was a genuine, good-hearted guy. We chatted with him for a while, learning about him and the story behind Blai Thai. The whole experience—from the food to the atmosphere to the people—was thoroughly enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back to Blai Thai. – Tommy

We got it here on a lunch rush with a party of 9, but they were able to seat us in 15 mins. That's quite a feat! Our server was very friendly and efficient. Despite working by himself (the restaurant was full!), he was able to get our orders and drinks on time with very minimal wait. Bravo! The food portions were great and the taste was amazing! I loved their pad thai and crab fried rice! It was my sister in law's birthday, so they gave her a free dessert crepe. It was heavenly! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

The host/owner is very friendly and checks up on you often. The robot is interesting. I'm not sure if it's more efficient than a person or just there for the novelty. We got lunch specials and the food is quite flavorful and perfectly filling. It's all beautiful and full of color and yummy fresh veggies you might not find in other Thai restaurants. Sodas (Coke) are served in cans.

This has become my favorite Thai spot. It's a quaint little place and I love that! The owner is very personable and hands on. The food is Absolutely Amazing! I happen to like my food served HOT OFF the STOVE...and this place does that. Everything looks and taste so FRESH and colorful with fresh vegetables. The Tom Kha soup with chicken was hands down the BEST that I ever had, and I eat a lot of Thai. The Blai Sizzling Basil was Delicious! I love this place!
